Social and Emotional Learning
The Mahoney House teaches Social and Emotional Learning to our local 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. The curriculum is provided by Second Step. The lessons provide guidance on coping skills, goal setting, healthy relationships, and boundaries. These lessons include interactive brain builders, activities, and open discussions.
We also teach in our middle school to the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The curriculum is provided by The Core Project. Each lesson is also interactive with activities and open discussions. The activities are aimed at assisting students with self awareness, healthy relationships, coping skills, and communication.
In 2022, we began teaching Social and Emotional Learning to our 9th graders, too!
